Maternity Clothes: A Primer

These are maternity pants.

Note the unsightly bag-like material at the front of the pants (arrow). This convenient pocket is for storing the baby, kind of like a kangaroo pouch.

But what do they look like on, you ask?

Well, Philomena here is going to show you.

Um, Phil? Hold still so the nice people can get a look at you.

As you can see, she loves the roomy fit!

Is the Maid of Honor Fat or Pregnant? Discuss.

Baby Mitchell sleeps through his/her first wedding while the other guests struggle with the answer to this question.

Exhibit A:

(Editor's note: Unfortunately, we may never know the truth; all the votes were lost in the mindless scramble to the ice cream truck by a horde of very well-dressed twenty-somethings. There is no denying the primal urge incited by that jingle.)

Further Adventures of Our Little Stowaway

As you can see, Lisa is still harboring a fugitive. The ultrasound went well today, and even though the little person weighs a whopping 15 ounces already, we've decided to leave him in there to bake a little longer. The last week has been a lot of fun for us as the baby has really begun moving around - I haven't felt him kicking yet but I have heard him treading water in there. Lisa woke up the other day to find the baby camping out on the left side of her stomach, making her belly quite lopsided. And no, we still didn't find out the gender, though we have been assured that it is one or the other.

Disclaimer: the male pronoun has been used in this post in lieu of "it." The use of this pronoun should not be taken to imply that the baby is actually a boy, although indeed there is a 50/50 chance that that is true.
